Second Hand Fashion Week: Day Two

Okay, so I'm going to break the trend here a little, and introduce my dapper brother. (This is the guy on the other end of the camera, photographing what I'm not...isn't he incredible?)

I had to share this! Because when I thrift/garage sale/hand-me-down shop, I'm shopping for whoever I find something for~ even down to my sister's sister-in-laws!!!! ;) Yep. Frugality is a lifestyle, and effects the whole family, even those handsome brothers.........So! Here he is! I told him he looks like he's from some movie...

Second Hand Fashion Week Starts Tomorrow!

Okay... I've never done anything like this before "but" (that's what they all say ;)) when I saw the announcement for this event last month, I was tickled. I just couldn't pass this up. Because, you see, second-hand is my "right hand" when it comes to shopping. I love it, everything about it. And frankly, it's how I've been raised: no big shopping trips to department stores, just downright, down-to-earth, frugal-ness learned straight from Mom.

Some folks have said that I need never say where I get my outfits ;) , buuuut I haven't bought into that one... Why keep something "hush-hush" when I can use these life lessons to encourage other women to live frugally and more like the woman we find in Proverbs 31? You truly don't have to pay more to dress well.

So! Here I am exposing the real me...thrifted and all!

My Herbfolio: Basil

I am so excited!!! I learned lots today.
I had no clue how much more the simple herb, Basil, could be used for than just Italian cookin' and pesto sauce...

For me, well, for today at least, the most exciting property of Basil?

~Eases overworked muscles.

Yep. Spent too much time lifting my honeybee hives yesterday, and am sorely paying for that today. Let's go chop up my Basil plant and make a relaxing back remedy! Haha!

Leaves:
~mosquito-repellent
~expel worms
~treats ringworm
~snake bite
~insect bites
~acne

Infusion aids digestion and is antibacterial. Inhaling the essential oil refreshes the mind and stimulates a sense of smell dulled by viral infection.
*Basil should be avoided on sensitive skin and during pregnancy.

So much to learn, so much to ponder! It left me feeling...

Good ♥ Byes

I used to think that the older I got,
the easier it would become to say goodbyes...

When, actually, the older I get the more and more I just BEGIN to understand the value and vapor of life...
And goodbyes just. grow. harder
